Re: BYOI

O cut your usual crap PNH. Seriously, colleges have always been about 75 percent study and 25 percent party or leisure. Since colleges have been around college kids have gotten in to trouble for one thing or another. In the 60s it was protests and now in the 2000+ its p2p. I'm not justifying it, but nor is it some shocking revelation where we all must pretend to gasp. It happens, face it. The RIAA isn't even proving their case by these letters. However, most people tend not to fight them due to legal costs. What's to say these affected computers weren't part of a net of hacked drones? While I doubt that to be the case, it's still possible. Botnets and hacked computers wreak havoc on many ISPS. There's nothing to say that said computer isn't hacked and used as someone else's storage and proxy to share said files. Either way, get off the kick bud. I don't even know why I bother replying to you, as rarely do your comments add ANY BIT of relevance to ANY conversation on dslreports.

Wow... between being in a real major, working a couple of part time jobs, and studying, I had no life outside of school. In fact, I work far less now than I ever did as an undergrad.

LOL..

NJIT is probably more along the lines of 95% study and 5% leisure (usually World of Warcraft). I can't recall any good parties taking place here... There is a 15:1 male to female ratio and if there are any females, they are probably Muslims with the cloth over their heads. Good thing is that this school is literally right across the street from Rutgers - Newark, which is completely opposite when it comes to study / party and girls per guy.

I dunno, I exited the college track with a 3.2 GPA in my undergrad major and a 3.8 in my grad school MS degree.
I had a Heck of a Time partying throughout.
Granted, my first couple semesters weren't so hot, way too much partyin' and not enough studying. But I eventually figured out the balance, even with a job (P/T) thrown in the mix.
It's all about managing your time wisely

I finished with a 3.2 as well for my undergrad degree... but I had a hard time earning it. If I hadn't studied as much as I did... I would have flunked out. As for grad school, I slacked... I pulled a 3.1, which of course is just above barely passing

You're looking at the wrong school. This is the University formerly known as UMR (though the guy/girl ratio is a little better then what yours was - 10:1). I graduated from there 2 years ago and you really don't understand the need to study. I played WoW for about 80% of the time and studied about 5% and still had just under an A- avg. This is an engineering school with a ton of nerds - of course they're going to be downloading. I'd assume they just wised up to downloading internally from servers and sharers we had instead of going externally to be caught - faster and no RIAA police. The other thing to realize is that it takes 5 min to queue up 20 songs to DL and you listen to music WHILE studying or gaming or whatever.

LOL but still I'm sure you found time to go out with buddies and relax or just chill. I mean, I'm sure if you attended an "IT" type school, you had the common sense before you got that. As a result, I bet you could blow studying off at time. Just a thought.

LOL Kool me. I never lived on campus but I found time to do stupid things in my spare time with friends. I ended my grad with approx 3.2 as well. It was all that wonderful thing called a balance, as you put it. The thing that sucked for me was I lived 30 miles away from my school and did the commute daily. Therefore, I really couldn't party on campus. It'd been quite hard to get back =P for such a long drive being screwed. Therefore, I made it up with friends where I lived LOL. Either way, unlike PNH who absolutely must be the "SPOCK" of all humanity (without the logic, just the seriousness), I found time to have fun. Hey, I even passed too and never failed a class. In all the time I was in college, I only dropped one class (didn't need it) and got a pity pass on another. Yet, I never failed. So yes PNH, people can have lives. Hey get this, I even got a 4.0 on my Masters. So I guess you just suck at balancing things would be the moral of this story PNH. Maybe you should invest in time management classes =P.

I know some at some schools, students just make their own file servers. They basically, as you said, just share their stuff cross campus with everyone. This alleviates the need to go to p2p and worry about getting caught.

So you slacked...and you didn't par-tay? Ah, your choice then. Where I took what free time I could to drink beer, others too that time to play Nintendo. Some did both! If you had the time to slack, then no complaining about not having the time to party

No, I was just in a real major. Had I shot for a degree in basket-weaving, I might have had more time for fun.

Yea... I did nothing and I'm a slack. Did you call your professors slackers? How about your teachers in school? I bet not. I studied to be a teacher. Obviously, that's something you don't appreciate since you know, they EDUCATED YOU. They did a poor job at that it seems though =).

Said the man with the education and know how to write the vary sentence that criticizes. Obviously, you are on this computer with the ability to read and write due to your teachers. Likewise, those same teachers educated you with the skills that you possess to be employed. So those who can teach, and those who wish to learn seek their advice. That'd be more accurate.

to present under new aspects - According to Meriam Webster, it can be used as a transitive. I never claimed English was my best point grammatically speaking.

And you're a teacher?

Says the man who criticizes others while using A FRAGMENT and beginning a sentence with a conjunction. The pot calling the kettle black. I guess your teachers DID FAIL YOU. If you are going to mock others, be sure you have your ducks in a row.

The proper spelling of the word you should have used is "very."

Actually, my question is grammatically correct. Furthermore, even if I had made a grammatically incorrect statement by ending the above with a period instead of a question mark, it would not be a fragment.

And no, I am not a teacher.

Sigh. First, I referred to the fact you STARTED a sentence with the word AND. And = Conjunction. Therefore, you created a sentence fragment. You're question is as follow: And you are a teacher? Notice, the word and is a conjunction and links two sentences together. What are you linking here? Please elaborate. It has nothing to do with ending that given sentence with a period. So FAILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL would be your word of week. Next time, don't criticize others if you can't even do so properly. As for the word very, I am aware of it. However, that word would also fit my sentence. Vary in terms of new aspects is fine. Either way, I have nothing to prove since you fail at judging others. Once again, PNH comes out missing.
