Re: Who uses their ISP's portal anyway... Agreed. Dumb Pipe = Great. However, most people here are thinking above basic computers 101. We don't realize that there are tens of millions out there who still use dialup or don't understand computers. I actually did a master's research on this topic on a small scale a while back and wasn't amazed by what I found. I interviewed about 10 or 15 people regarding their computer usage (specific type of work) and found many weren't comfortable with them. The ages tended to be 40+. Some didn't even use or care to know about computers at all. Let's face it, the 40+ crowd still has a lot of users who are lucky to be able to turn on a computer. As you said and stated, those ISP web ports are then their godsend. |
