1 edit | Fiber Issue : PA / NY / BOSTON We have had a large network event that has taken down a couple really large circuits. The impact isn't much now but will get worse as demand for traffic begins to grow. This looks like some sort of fiber cut.
There will be internmited voice issues as well.

It seems there is a Fiber cut at least once a month.
It just appears that these large outtages were never the case with coax.

I believe I found your account, We see your modem offline however out the 350+ modems off the chasis you are on, you are 1 of 5 that are down. I don't see any outage. I see modems around you on-line as well.
Is this a RCN supplied modem? I would pull power on it, wait a minute and plug it back in. Please make sure all your fittings are tight. (also try not to have the modem off a splitter)

4 edits | Oh thank god the internet is back (just woke up)!
The whole day yesterday felt like I was hit by a baseball bat over and over again -- having no internet for 13hrs (10:30am-1am) -- not sure when exactly this was fixed since that was the time I gave in and went to bed. My modem was still down at 1am though.. not that it matters anymore but a lot of ground was lost yesterday. =(
Surprisingly my phone service was up and running throughout the whole mess.
Edit: Ahh! I just saw the thread below me (Sorry I'm blind.. yesterday took a beating out of me). Looks like 3am was the ETR. x_x | |
