got a 32" 1080p (Samsung LN32A550) LCDTV for 100% PC use. after a few days of getting the color right and text/images crisp, it looks great. awesome upgrade from my 22" Samsung 226bw. only problem was that my 4 month old 8800GT 512 couldnt handle max quality at this slightly larger res. apparently it was at the edge of its capabilities at 1680x1050 at max quality in most games, but with an extra 3million pixels to render, it wasnt up to the task without lowering quality. even OCed to 670/970 it wasnt able to muster up the juice to keep me above 30FPS in intense TF2 scout fights.
well...i cant have none 'o dat! 9800GTX arrived last night and while i only got to play for a short few minutes after installing it, TF2 was sitting at solid 60 fps on absolute max quality regardless of action on the screen. now that's more like it! and i got it for $270 w/ free shipping+no tax. steal IMO considering my 8800GT cost me 250 in january.
this thing is FREAKIN HUGE! pictures and reviews dont do it justice. i know it's the same size as the 8800GTX, but ive neevr seen one in person. it's a good 3 or 4" longer than my GT and barely fits inside my Antec 900 case. had to reroute ATX and other cables differently to give it room to mount.
btw, WTS EVGA 8800GT 512MB, reseated with Arctic Silver Ceramique (runs 10 C cooler under load)- $130 shipped. if interested, PM me and i'll put it up on the FS forums to make it official and follow the rules. -- Somnambulator - t3h 5133pw41k3r

| reply to Somnam Er, I run TF2 at 1920x1200 (24" monitor) with 8x AA + very high everything fine on a G80 8800GTS 640. Minimum I get is 40FPS even on the most intense battles in Warpath.
EDIT: Scratch 8x AA, it's actually set to 16xQ - even better. |

| reply to Somnam Nice HDTV you got. I'm planning to get the same TV when I'm moving to Japan in the next 2 months.
Does this TV ghost at during fast action movements? I'm planning to play COD 4 on my PS3 and CS:Source on my PC for this TV.
Many Thanks |

| reply to Somnam only ghosting i notice is slight and only when im playing scout in TF2 -fastest class in game and does a lot of twitching aiming and double jumping.
be sure to turn Sharpness down to b/w 0 and 5 to remove the white borders around text and icons. default sharpness gives me eye strain and makes text hard to read.
im very satisfied with the TV as a 100% dedicated PC gaming monitor even though it's not as sharp as the 22" 226BW. -- Somnambulator - t3h 5133pw41k3r

| reply to Somnam Thanks for the info.
Do you know the difference between the LN32A550 and the LA32A550P? Specs-wise, they are identical on paper but I'm not sure if they are different TVs. I'm currently in Hong Kong and they only have the LA32A550P TV here.
Thanks again. |

| reply to Somnam I just bought the 6 series Samsung LN46A650 on Sunday. I plan on doing the same. LOL looks sweet though. My wife thinks I am crazy maybe so for a 2100.00 dollar TV for gaming haha. I'll probably swing my HD box over to it as well.
I'll be running my q6600 OC 3.6 w/ 9800GX2. Actually in the process of moving PC back up stairs |

| reply to Somnam i looked at 37" models from different brands but theyre TOO big. this isnt mounted on my wall away from my setup lol. it's in the same spot a normal monitor would go and it's just the right size. if i moved bacxk a few feet a 37 would be great but even then 42+ would be ginormous.
you should enjoy yours |
