Can someone recommend an IR eye for the DVR? It's blocked by my coffee table at the moment so I would like to make use of the 1/8" jack in the back. |

| Somebody correct me if I am wrong(and I could very well be), but isn't that 1/8" jack in the back for if the DVR were able to control other devices, as in, if you had a VCR in your setup, you would plug the cord into the back of the DVR and put the other end in front of the VCR's IR receiver.
I know this is what the jacks were used for before STBs were DVRs.
As an alternative idea, somebody suggested this:

a few weeks back on the board. I don't know if it worked, but it might be worth a shot. |

I have the same situation with the coffee (and sometimes the dog) blocking the IR signals to the box. I don't have the option to install it high. |

| Any chance you could put a mirror in the path to catch a reflection from another direction? Also might work off a glass door from an equipment cabinet. |
