| New Replies since last time a topic was read.
Would it be possible (if it doesn't exist already) to extend the "New Replies" feature that automatically functions (rather nicely) while you are viewing an already-open thread?
The extended functionality could allow it also work when the site member returns back to a thread after being away from the thread or site for a period of time.
This way you could easily find where you left off reading in an interesting topic that contains a large number of posts. (some of the good threads can get really really long.)
And if not an automatic thing, perhaps a way to manually tag/bookmark the spot within the thread that you easily find when you return to it. (admittedly I am lazy and would much prefer the site to do all that for me automatically )
Thanks.
edit note: Here's an example thread where such a feature would be very useful when you've not been here for even a few hours.

Reconsidering this, since we can already see our posts and see what replies have been made to them I don't see the reason. |

| Errrr. . .actually I am going to have to *object* to this.
(I've just been informed by Fourboxers that this feature exists in almost this exact fashion with the "New posts" arrow at the right hand side of the topic in the forum views.)
Probably no need to keep this thread open. -- Through My Eyes |
