Reporting an AT& T employee's abusive comments?

How do you report an AT&T employee's written abuse to AT&T? Can you count abusive IMs on BBR as abuse?

Okay, I'll bite...were their comments to you from business dealings, or personal?

There are very few employees that are "officially" here on the board for work purposes, thats why I ask...

Oh and no, I'm no longer with them...

They are not AT&T (phone/dsl/cable) related, but I'm wondering if AT&T has some ethics or moral guideline. I'm sure they wouldn't approve of the unjustified, unwarranted comments I received in IM.....even on a personal level.

If its on a personal level, keep it that way, why drag their job into it?

Do what you like, but for someone to lose their job over petty things, thats just crazy...

Maybe I will let "life" handle it, but the kind of comments I received were 100% unwarranted and unjustified.

I can understand and appreciate that very much, there's no need for anyone to talk to another person that way...ever...

See what happens, and if it doesn't stop, well at that point you may need to go further...

Well I don't think it was me, cause I know we haven't IM'd in the better part of years, none the less can I still say hello on occasion?

I agree with moose, some people are rather nice to work with inside the at&t walls, then they go outside to the public and it's a complete 180 degree turn. Ironically, my mother knows 5-10 police officers that are the same way.

LOL....yeah, it wasn't you, and yeah, you can say hello ...haha (thanks for the smile)

I'm sure there is a segment of the population that is this way no matter what their occupation. They are entirely different in the workplace vs. being an anonymous poster on the net (& actually stating their living location, employer, and their name in their profile - so much for anonymous, heh)

What an employee writes on their personal time is their business; not AT&T's.

That's also a consideration as well, cause the company doesn't care what they do on their own time. On company time that's a different story, but if it's on their own... nope.

They don't even consider it worth wasting the time.

Not true for all companies. Many have ethical/moral codes that follow "outside of the workplace". Are you speaking for AT & T? Can I ask your CEO if you are speaking for the company and report it to CNN? Be very careful if you are making a pubic statement for a company as large as AT & T.

Zip your britches and quit trying to play "mine's bigger than yours" or we'll all jump to a conclusion about why you got a message that offended you.

David is right in that at&t limits itself to actions on the job for most of it's employees. They have this pesky thing called a bargaining agreement between the company and the unions that represent most of their workers. The agreement sets standards for working conditions and I doubt that it extends to some social internet spot like this.

If they made remarks on behalf of that company or in their official capacity it might be a different thing. Otherwise, you'd have as much luck trying to get a limit on gas prices or threaten to kick someone in the face.

Oh wait, you did that already

Report it to Fatness or justin or someone else in their capacity. This is a "site" issue, not an ATT one.

I take offense to your comment. Just because I ask how to report inappropriate and offensive language, you IMPLY that I deserve the disgusting comments I received in IM? You are no different than him. Its sad how some of you think, or don't think.

As for my comments on gas prices.....the kicking someone in a face is a running joke/comment of mine. Obviously, it was meant to be sarcastic...... No one is going to kick a stranger in the face for something that have nothing to do with ...duh!

And for the record, the discussion could have been considered ended with my thankyou to Annonamoose (letting it go), but I guess you just had to add your 2 cents in.

I agree, it's a site issue at this point. I would let fatness, justin or any mod deal with it.
