Re: DryLoop DSL Polarity

where did you get this provisioned for 911 info? I don't think that's right.

I could be wrong but just what does 911 have to do with DSL? You are not going to be calling 911 from a dry loop DSL line.

Canezoid, I have a question about FastAccess DSL Direct and 911 calls.

I'm aware that it has a dial-tone but I thought it was only for the voltage to keep the copper in good shape. I was under the impression that "naked" DSL could have a sealing current applied to it without a dial-tone, but I did not give it anymore thought because I assumed that putting a dial-tone on the line was probably just easier for AT&T Southeast to do.

I told a few of my customers that calls could not be made from the line even though it had a dial-tone and they asked if they could make a 911 call from it and I said that I did not think so.

Can a person make a call to 911 on a FastAccess DSL Direct line?

If this can be done then I will need to contact my customers and inform them that I was mistaken about this.
