SAN FRANCISCO -- Peter Magowan, the owner who brought Barry Bonds to San Francisco, built a new ballpark and kept Major League Baseball in the city, is stepping down as managing partner of the Giants. Say what you want, I thought he was a terrific owner. He started the latest trend of privately funding ballparks, and built a fine facility in doing so. This Bonds thing must have worn him out completely.

| A true fan, will be missed. He took a beating lately with the Zito signing, lack of production from the farm system and Balco.
Hopefully the next guy is as passionate as he is and will give the team the needed resources to compete.
