Can I split the line to add a 2cd TV w/o a converter box?

Just had one HD converter box installed (Motorola QIP6200-2) and want to know if it is possible to "split" the signal so I can add a 2cd TV without having to add a 2cd box.

I had Comcast cable prior and I was able to do exactly that.

do u want to split the signal after it comes out of the box or split the signal before it goes in....

Once VZ moves to all digital, you'll have to get some sort of box, unless perhaps your TV has a QAM tuner. When they turn off your analogs, they should offer you a free, very basic box.
Regardless of where you split, run RG6 from a 1000ghz (at least) splitter. Should work fine. My main line splits into three just inside, no problems.

I was thinking the same thing...

You'll be doomed sooner or later.

I'd at least look into seeing if you can get a free DCT 700 box.
