glad to see a strong ATI card again, though. the 3870 and 3870x2 leave much to be desired. they are poor performers in many games, where even a 9600GT beats the X2 occasionally. not sure if it's poor drivers or games more optimized for nvidia cards but seeing $150-200 nvidia cards outperform a $400 ATI card made me turn away from ATI.

8800GT is pretty cheap too, it was 140 just recently. 3870 is about 170 I think.

Myself, I'm going to see what the 4000 series has to offer. Might just settle for 3870 if the price is low enough. I got my X1950 Pro for decent price. Runs what I want pretty well other than Gears of War. Even with a 19", the game starts to sputter.
