jrr323 : All I know is that I installed Bandwidth Monitor and when I looked at it while the router was connected, my upload usage was running almost 60% of my download usage. As soon as I removed the router, my upload usage dropped to between 10% and 20% of my download usage. That made me very suspicious, so I tried using another router and the usage stayed down. Also from the beginning, our speeds haven't seemed like what they should be and I don't know if the router had something to do with that too or not. I'll be anxious to see if things drastically improve once I'm off the FAP restriction. I don't know why it would act this way, but if simply replacing my router solves my problems, I really don't care why.

They told me that I could certainly pay more money to increase my bandwidth. I did. Four days later, without uploading ANYTHING I am FAPped again. I have complained to the FCC and the Vermont District Attorney's office. I suggest everyone do the same. The service is terrible and they don't listen.
Now, incidentally, my upload says 62% and the promised automatic return to full speed has not occurred.
By the way, aren't we paying for web hosting? He said that he couldn't really tell much since my account had been FAP'd and left. He suggested that I upgrade my package so that I didn't keep going over the limit. I told him that I didn't know why I would upgrade my package when even when it isn't FAP'd it doesn't work very good and I don't see why I am going over. He said "Well when you do get the speed, you'll want the higher limits." Well if that day ever gets here I'll be amazed!

Keep going over upload limit - cannot find legit source

anon : I had Wildblue installed in January due to beginning to cyber-school my son and needing something faster than dial-up and no DSL or cable available in my rural area. I have had nothing but problems since, with the biggest being that my service was restricted twice within the last 6 weeks for going over my upload FAP limit. I am at a loss. I admit to downloading quite a bit (games, music, etc.), but I upload next to nothing. I have went over all the common culprits (web cam, online games, P2P, uploading pics, etc.), but I do none of these. I surf, I do a small amount of e-mail, download some from iTunes and I get my son's school lessons. That's pretty much it. I do have a wireless network, but I live in a very rural area and someone would have to be standing in my yard with a laptop to be able to piggyback my network. I have updated virus protection as well as both my computers and my routers are firewalled. Does anyone have any suggestions as to were this may be coming from. My only probable guess at this point is that Wildblue's usage monitors are as useless and unreliable as their customer service, but if you can come up with something else, please help me. I am tired of paying $50/mo. for 1 week of usable service. Thanks!
