Re: Fedora 9 is out

I dunno, it's weird. Either you fall in love with a distro and then chase down the hardware needed to stay in love, or you have hardware you like and need to go wife shopping, er...I mean distro shopping looking for what works.

I'll sit on Fedora 8 a while longer.

I did do one thing that I can't quite get working. OpenSSH v5 has chroot capability in it now. So I grabbed the Fedora 9 SRPM and built it all on Fedora 8. All built fine, except I can't seem to get the chroot thingie working. It may be SE Linux in the way though and not an OpenSSH problem.

I've been using ssh.com's freeware SSH for many years because it has had that chroot in it all along, unlike OpenSSH that has always had to have been hacked for it.

I'm looking for anyone on Fedora 9 that has that working, or of course anyone who backported it to Fedora 8 like I did.

I've been googling, but it's apparently too early yet.

Edit: It's SE Linux preventing file writes. Some sort of voodoo like policy editor can be used to fix this, but ya' gotta have a PhD to understand it.
