What a good AV suite?

Our antivirus subscription is running out and wanted to see if you guys recommend anything else. We are currently using avg which i hate. I have used symantec and have heard good things about trend micro. We have about 30 computers, so what do you recommend based on performance and price.

Ive never liked Symantec, and hate how they release a fixing tool for everything as a separate app. I use Trend in my company, and I'm pretty happy with it overall.

Yea i just want something that isnt too intrusive, and doesnt really slow the computers down. I dont need a internet suite either with a firewall or anything.

The only way Trend slows my stuff down is if it real-time checks a folder where files change a lot. Became an issue with my Java developers. However, you can set directories to be exempted from real-time checking.

I have used Symantec, Trend Micro, Kaspersky, and AVG. Currently, I use AVG free for antivirus, and I have a few freeware spyware applications that I use on top of it.

Just as something else to look into is NOD32. The corporate edition comes with centralized monitoring / control.

For corporate AV I have chosen Sophos SBE. I like the management console and the slim installation of the program.

I like the McAfee VirusScan Enterprise edition that I have installed at about 12 computers at my church. The management console is nice and push out updates and virus definitions daily when they're released. Everything is centrally managed which makes updating settings easy.

In my opinion, I think the enterprise versions of McAfee are much better and easier to use than the home user edition.

Is there no love for Avast here? I have installed Avast on over 40 computers and have never had a problem with it. You can set it to update silently or have something pop up saying its updated so you know. It also catches everything you can throw at it. I love it and have used it for 5 years now.

Sophos Enterprise is the best i ve seen... But it may be a bit price for such a small amount of PCs.. when we bought it was about 6K, but we bought a hole suite that came with Sophos Pure MEssage (spam filtering server) and support..

AV by itself should be cheaper..
