maintech : 2 weeks I had my Mediacom phone installed, I already had HSI and family cable with digital Starz pack. Phone was installed Monday before last. I noticed a few days later that I still did not have the 10/1 service as advertised and promised by the CS person I set the phone installation with. Well due to heavy work load and other obligations I did not follow up on that with Mediacom until Friday night late, the Tier 1 guy I talked to said yea I should be getting 10/1 but it looked like It had not been pushed down to my modem, he said he would push a trouble ticket but a supervisor would have to okay the change and that they would not have a sup available until Sat morning. While I was giving him my MAC info the modem lights flashed and I lost the phone call, Upon investigation I found out the installer only screwed the F connector on a couple of threads and the cable would break connection if the modem was moved the wrong way. So I tightened the connection and called back and got the trouble ticket started . Well around 3 pm sat I called Tech support back because still no change. I am still getting a solid 7.3-7.7 Mbit down and .483 - .495 Mbit up at speedtest.net real good for a 8/.5 connection not so good for 10/1. So anyway I called around 3pm The Tier 1 guy looked up the info and said that the original trouble ticket had been closed as being resolved. I said no still the same he went over a few things with me and then talked to someone else, then told me to wait one hour, speedtest if still at 8 then reset modem test again if still no change wait 2 more hours reset the modem again and call if unchanged. So at 6:30pm I called again, found out that the 2nd TT had been closed as resolved, this guy did some testing from his end, asked me some questions, reset my modem remotely had me do some testing then called tier 2 while I was on hold he then reset the modem again and told me the modem was bouncing the new config file, so he talked to someone else while I was on hold ( up to this point I was fairly happy with this one because he was taking time to verify and trace down the problem ) when he returned he told me that he talked to someone in ?tier2? and they did some more digging and saw a issue with my modem/config file and that he did not want to get to technical for me (I had a brief WTF moment becuae that came across as if I was to dumb to understand anything)so would just tell me that they would be working on a soloution over the next few hours and that my modem would probably reset several times up until maybe 9-10 pm, well here it is Sun morning and based on my modem status screen Mediacom has not reset me at all, I have doen a manual reset from my end twice in hopes that the config file was there waiting for a reset but no luck on that .

Would someone here that represents Mediacom be able to dig into this a little and be able to atleast give me a update as to what the problem is and a time frame for a fix. Honestly the difference between 8 and 10 down is not killing me but we do have 3 computers using the connection and it would help a bit when the all three are in use and doing some heavy pulling at the connection. Now the doubling of the upload should really help when I am uploading my pictures (which I do frequently)

I have a ARRIS TM502G modem hooked to a linksys router, The test results with and without the router are almost identical I might be an average of 15Kbit faster without the router. Running XP on two computers and ME on the third.
