TPB a bunch of jacka**es

I hope The Pirate bay loses, simply for assanine comments from a bunch of blind children such as the responses at »thepiratebay.org/legal .. simply ignorant and I'm sure they will regret thinking they are immune and saying these things when they lose..

But, once again, point to the LAW they are breaking. Guess what, much to all the megacorp supporting right wing nut cases dismay, SWEDEN is NOT part of the United States. TPB is just a search engine. They are like google, but specialized. They aren't PROVIDING any pirated files, just links.

Guess what, you can do a search in google, and use the "filetype:torrent", and find the EXACT SAME THINGS. What now, is GOOGLE breaking the law too?

The interweb is a scary place for the right wing nut case luddites. They see 'terrist' everywhere, and good lord, all those pedophiles. Won't someone PLEASE think of the children, and have the US INVADE sweden to shut down these supporters of terrorism.

While I agree with you that until a single Swedish law is broken, there is no case; there are very very very few right wing musical acts, especially among those artists who are going after TPB.

If child pornography were legal in Sweden, would you still say there is no problem?

Not to mention that Google actually links to a wider variety of sources. A tracker will just bring up the torrent material. Google brings up links to all the http file hosts too, and I think some (web based?) news servers.

It is ridiculous to say Google is OK but a tracker isnt.

Best strawman ever, I almost hit the ground laughing. Yeah I totally agree that being able to make a copy of a song is equivalent to child pornography.

Would it be a problem? Yes it would

Would it be illegal? Not until the law was changed.

If child porn was legal in Sweden, then what could the US do about it, short of invading or imposing sanctions?

As another poster pointed out, one of the individuals suing TPB himself has had questionable relations with children. In a sense, doesn't that make us look bad?

Thanks to the TPB I no longer have the need to subscribe to cable TV and Im not downloading content illegally, rather Im enjoying it through Hulu.com, Joost.com and other sites like them.

If it wasn't for TPB I'd be stuck paying that insane cable TV bill in which I only watched five or six shows a week. NOw I watch them free legally online.

Piracy equals progress! TPB FTW!

You're sort of wrong there. I'm a right winger and don't approve of the mpiia or whatever they're called going after downloaders. My opinion is, the record and movie industry created the need to go around them because of the high prices they charge for a 2 cent piece of plastic. They run a scam every few years of upgrading the technology from records to 8-tracks to cassettes to cd's as a way to fatten their wallets and all the while claim the new technology is going to be cheaper. It only got more expensive and the obscene amount of money they make does not justify what we get in the end. Fuck them. Guess what- the greedy bastards are getting their comeuppance. I hope Pirate Bay wins, and the record industry can go back to suing little grandmothers for $2500. again back here in the States.

I actually wouldn't have a problem if Sweden legalized child pornography. Their country, their laws. Plain and simple.
