| Delivery Failure Notices
I have recently started receiving dozens of "Delivery Failure Notice" messages for e-mails I never sent. Some of these are in languages other than english. Friends are also telling me they are receiving failure notices when they try to send me an e-mail. I have been using my current e-mail address for almost ten years and do not want to change or lose it. Any suggestions? |

| Thats a tough one. It is not difficult for spammers to send messages as someone else and there isn't anything that you can do about it (that I know of). In my experience this behavior comes and goes. It seems like spammers will use an address for a bit then move on to another to avoid getting filtered using your faked address. If you are really attached to this email address, your going to have to wait this episode out and hope it doesn't happen to often. If it is someone maliciously targeting you, you are at their mercy unless you can find out who they are and can have them stop. The delivery failure messages have fairly constant wording so you could set up a rule in your mail client to send them to a special folder or to the trash when you receive them. Just be aware that you will have to look in that special folder or trash if people say they don't get messages sent from you legitimately as you might have mistyped their email address and the *good* Delivery Failure Notice will be redirected by the rule. |
