3web Cable East Gold vs Sympatico HSE

anon posted : I am switching from Sympatico High Speed (an oxymoron) Edition to 3web. :)

I found this forum just after putting in my order, and was having second thoughts after ordering. But now that I am up and running with 3web, no way I am going back to Bell.

I was having speed issues with Bell, took several calls (and 3 modems) to realize that I was just too far from the CO to have any service guarantee, but not far enough not to be charged full-fare. They had also locked my account to a lower speed than I was paying for; when one of their techs realized that, they unlocked my account to its full potential. Speed increase was about 20-40% (depending upon moon phase, I guess), but I then had daily outages, a couple of hours at a time. Call to tech would usually conclude that my modem was displaying manny errors. Then I got locked to the lower speed to attain stability. And I could go on and on.

$47.95/month gets me this with Bell/Sympatico...

whereas $32.95/month gets me this with 3web:

Oh, and to be fair, the Sympatico figure is from a straight connexion from modem to PC, while the 3web figure is has got a router between modem and PC, probably slowing it down somewhat. Tests made on a Saturday evening, within a few minutes of each other.
