| Primus offers the Speedtouch 516V6 for 34.95?!
I was just browsing the primus website and saw this page: »www.primus.ca/en/residential/int···ffer.htm
I think you get this price when you sign-up for the service but still... it's still a good deal. |

| Wrong forum and bad deal
1) This is the TSI forum. Your post is more suitable in the CDN broadband forum since you must purchase their DSL service to get that modem.
2) "Purchase from one of the modems listed below when signing up for the $34.95 per month DSL offer."
$34.95/month offer is hardly a deal when I pay less than $29/month at TSI. |

Maybe you can put some light in my lantern, Gokuu.
Do you mean 29 $/m for new customers as well or is there some restriction like being an existing one on a lower monthly transfer capacity? |

| Well, i pay VelCom 85.71 $ (tax included) every three months for my 6016 Mbps access but i believe there was a price raise for new customers in 2008 and i thought TekSavvy did the same. I expected to read something near 40 $ for TekSavvy 5 Mbps max 200 GB/m, actually. |

As well Primus is assuming they're gaining a long term customer.
Keep in mind as well they do NOT let you use your own modem. You still can but your still forced to either rent or buy. |

| said by eots :Wouldn't TSI still make a profit charging $50 for the ST516? Not much of anything.... Our cost is in the $40, but then we land-up setting all the boxes ahead of time for everyone ordering one up, plus dealing with returns, etc.... The hardware side requires somewhat of a mark-up just to deal with all the one off issues.
Those who are selling for way less, I don't believe are doing themselves a favour on this one. The monthly on DSL is very low margin but with multiple thousands of them it adds up eventually. On one-offs, not the same at all... -- TSI Rocky - TekSavvy Solutions Inc. |
