Underground utilities

What will they do in areas with underground utilities?

Very good question. I think those areas will just be dead spots forever. You can't put poles inside underground-only subdivisions, and other solutions such as mounting them on houses will be very expensive/hard. I don't think much of Long Island is underground in my opinion.

That's a great question. I don't know how they'd really handle that. Most of my area isn't, but certain streets here and there are.

Perhaps they could use light poles? Though there I suppose it would depend on making a deal with the municipality.

NIMBYs will go crazy since it ruins the aesthic of the light poles (having a box on its shaft).
