yet 1 more reason why I do not use e-bay or paypal. The people in Nigeria really hosed e-bay
Oh well, I love »www.eBay.com and it has allowed me to get or fix items that are no longer available anywhere else and/or it saves me large amounts of money over buying local things.

For example I needed to replace the RBC-4 equivalent 12V 12AH Rechargeable SLA Batteries in both of my two APC Back-UPS 650 as their original batteries are just hitting 5 years old and no longer are working for long (just a few minutes of run-time instead of the normal 15-25 minutes). Every local store wanted at least $49.95 each (or more) for the equivalent replacement for RBC-4 batteries plus 6% Sales tax. I found what I needed on eBay and got two (2) RBC-4 equivalent 12V 12AH ZEUS brand SLA batteries shipped to my door for $53.98 (the batteries were $20.35 each and shipping was $13.28) which is a 50% savings over the $105.84 local price ($49.95 x 2 = $99.90 + 6% tax = $105.84). I consider that a very worthwhile savings!!

I have had two bum deals on eBay (about one each in the last two years) and PayPal got my funds back *both* times on sellers that never shipped the items.

So it is not perfect, but if you take your time and work with-in the system, it is great resource.

For exactly this type of reason, I left the accounts open, though dormant for a while. To clarify, I'm not trying to bash Ebay or PayPal. PayPal was expedient at closing the account down, and posts warnings every which way but Sunday.

Props, to all those who called me some harsh names in the returned hi-jacked email. But I must say 20% of those contacted (many overseas) wanted to do business with the fake. I only want to raise awareness, that fraud has become the way of the world. Do business with those you know, or have referrals from someone you trust.
