I really do appreciate the help with this.

One last query:
I like to assign these addresses specifically because it allows for creating very strict firewall rules + it is my understanding that by manually designating the addresses to the XP machines I'm possibly eliminating one more operation to be performed by Windows at boot-time - but I also realize that by limiting my DHCP Max Servers to '2' in WRT, that the machines will probably just get the same two addresses anyway...

a) am I wrong?

There,you will see a "Start IP address" and right underneath that is the "Maximum DHCP Users".

So if the Start IP is 192.168.1.100,and the Max. DHCP Users is set at 50,then it will assign IP addresses from 192.168.1.100 to 192.168.1.149.

Can you please clarify? My router is 192.168.1.1, PC is 192.168.1.100, Lap is 192.168.1.101 (both manually assigned in XP)

I was able to flash it immediately through the FF GUI and although it said "Upgrade Failed" it clearly did not - as I'm looking right at the RC-7 in the corner.
I was quite surprised to find some of my configurations still intact (other than the router name/password) as well - I did restore factory defaults.

Thing is; now I'm dropping occasional web pages (not found) and seem to have accrued a few more configuration settings to confound me (DTAG VDSL Vlan Tagging? MPPE Encryption? ha!) although I've decided to apply EL's dns servers to Static DNS 1-3 cause I'm feeling frisky. Switching to "dhcp forwarder" noticeably sped things up when I tried that on a whim...

Time for me to read up on this some more.
Glad to have the upgrade though!

Hello there & thank you for your time,

I've got a Zyxel p660r-elnk bridged (rfc 1483) to a wrt54g [v8.2] flashed w/v24 rc5 micro and while I'm seemingly up and running fine need a little advice; I'm not exactly positive how to set the following fields (most have defaulted to 0.0.0.0):

Under "Router IP" -
Gateway: ?
Local DNS: ?

Under "Network Address Server Settings" -
DHCP: Forward or Server?
DHCP Server: Enable?
Static DNS (1-3): ?

(both desk/laptop run xp sp2 - if that factors )

Because now I'm logging a lot of traffic out from 0.0.0.0, I thought something might be amiss (also Gateway and Local DNS are 0.0.0.0 in LAN Status page).
Any light shed on this would be greatly appreciated.
