| Ah crud I forgot that I was going to mention that I can see the need for an Open STB, not a full HTPC (could be) but at least a net connected one with a good amount of power and capability.
As companies turn to the web as a distribution medium they are going to want to target the TV, the one in the living room of the masses that don't want to know that TCP/IP is or just how man pixels is in 720p or 1080p, just that you plug this here, that there, and the last one to the TV and you are ready to go.
If there is no inclusive solution that would consolidate most to all these services we will end up with many boxes doing basically the same thing for different companies. |
