| Know nothing about DMT, does this look normal? [pic]
 DMT Report |
Just got teksavvy after moving to canada a few days ago. Do these stats look normal? I'm only seeing around 270KB/s (Kilobytes) on just normal http downloads using everything I can to get it to go faster. Seems pretty slow for 5Mbit DSL.
Can anyone help or tell me if this is normal? DMT picture attached. I live right downtown in Toronto. Brand new condo. Thanks. |

| Your Upload is Saturated pretty Easily Your at 256kbps Up with a snrm of 7.0 And if they scale u up to a 5 mbit profile the up will go up as well i think and your line according to this Cannot support more Upload. and Your Download Snrm is Horribly low as well. Anychance you have unfiltered phones on the line? Try disconnecting everything except the Modem and Plug to each jack in your condo and run the DMT see which jack provides best results as You lack a Demarc being in a building. |

| reply to canadabound its not 5mbit dsl. Your SNRM is extremely shaky, as stated before make sure your not filtering your DSL connection. with attenuation like that you can handle 24/3.5 Meg profile with ease. just got to see what is causing that horrible SNRM. its choking your line's potential |

| said by AOD :just got to see what is causing that horrible SNRM. its choking your line's potential the 63dB is the culprit. Simply distance. Not much else. at 63dB, lucky to be syncing at 2.5mbit down.
Though there is something with the upstream, usually upstream is the least affected. Probably something with inside wiring, filters or a screwy telephone or another device like fax or answering machine.
Unplug all telephone devices & filters, reset your modem and check the stats. -- GOLF LEAFS GOLF! |

 DMT stats |
Ok everyone I'm a spaz. I was calling teksavvy about something else (They gave me the wrong phone number on my home line no big deal) and I asked where I should have my filter, in front of the dsl modem or on the jack with the phone. The lady informed me that it should be in front of the phone line.
Here's what my DMT stats look like now, better? The upload increased a lot. The download a little. |

True, i didn't even notice that... something sure is cutting off or filtering the frequency... Maybe he put a filter on his modem -- GOLF LEAFS GOLF! |

You can definitely ask them to put in a ticket to be raised to 5/6mbit now. -- GOLF LEAFS GOLF! |

You should call TekSavvy or post in the direct forum requesting to be put on 5mbit fastpath.
