Has anyone else played this game yet? I like it, its 4rtx or someshit, so it takes forever to win. The space is soo huge. It was not too hard to pick up, did not help I was stoned everytime I played it, but it was fun. --

| reply to DaMaGeINC Love it too. Hard as hell. Very fun game but expect to spend a lot of time on it and also expect to get your ass handed to you until you get the hang of it. Its the first strategy game to come along in several years that I didnt steamroll on hard settings the first time I played it. |

| reply to DaMaGeINC I played it every day for about a month when I first got it, slowly lost interest in it. Probably took 2 weeks to get the hang of it and beat the computer AI on hard. One thing that I found improved the game play, lock the teams or you get constant crap from the computer AI, missions, threats, etc. Also they eventually will gang up on you if you dont lock teams. The Diplomacy is pretty crappy in this game.
There are many user made mods that improve the graphics, like actually being able to see your ships shooting while being zoomed out. -- Justice For Police Officer Daniel Faulkner |

| reply to irontoes Looks like we're all in the same boat... Love it, think it's a fantastic idea and I was VERY happy to support a developer that refuses to put horrible copy protection on their product that only hurts legitimate consumers.
Lost interest, though.
I wish Relic would suddenly release Homeworld 3 tomorrow without anyone having known it existed. |

| reply to DaMaGeINC Imho the only game in a very ,very long time that has brought me the fun I had with Homeworld and its sequel. As far as space RTS is concerned, I consider Homeworld to be the most epic and successful example of a perfect game.
Sins is different, yet perhaps equally good. The modding community is AMAZING, check the forums. Stardocks is even helping them when they want to mod something they cannot, and in an upcoming patch, they will release additional modding tools at their request to make modding even more customizable.
The only thing I don't like much is how long it takes to play a game and the AI, which even at hard level, is still pretty dumb!
I really miss the Freespace 2 age, when space sims were flourishing and gave birth to awesome games like Homeworld, in a different genre. Wing Commander even before...FreeLancer afaik is the most recent try at reviving the genre and it didn't approach the quality of Freespace 2.
I now very actively play BSG: Beyond the Red Line, a 100% fan made standalone game running on the FS2 engine (which sourcecode was released a few years ago). The models, voice acting,controls... are awesome! |

| reply to DaMaGeINC I got it for a lot of the same reasons above but found the time commitment too much not helped by feeling like I was playing a board game against the AI: since you can do almost everything zoomed out I started to wonder what the point was of the zoomed in views.
I think I've had it with tech-tree oriented games. Just burned out. The excitement of attaining a new tech was at its peak with X:COM ufo defense, and has declined ever since until now there is barely a flicker of interest when I attain nano-bot infused armor, or whatever. |

| said by justin :I got it for a lot of the same reasons above but found the time commitment too much This is what I feel. I get off work at 10pm, get home and sit down and play 1 good game, and next thing I know its 2am.
But I actually enjoy the game that much that I would sit down that long and play it, its still a new game though, so I will give it some time to evolve and see where it goes. |

| reply to DaMaGeINC Had it for some months now.Its a pretty good game IMHO its really fun when you multi-play it in a small or medium game. There is some hard core back-stabbing sometimes...:) -- "It's called the American dream because you have to be asleep to believe it."-George Carlin

So I don't seem like a total noob when I do play it. There is one this I don't like, playing with noobs. So I try not to do it to other people. |

| reply to DaMaGeINC I would like to see a fleet cap based not only on tech, but planet holdings as well. Cap out the research first, then when you capture one galaxy, your fleet support can increase. -- ~ Project Hope ~ |
