I just did this last week with a DI-604 router using a static IP.

I had to setup the router for Static IP Address, even when the info says to us Dynamic.

I used the instructions for - DW6000/7000 or HN7000S with Static IP and DHCP enabled

I needed router so I could setup to use port forwarding.
