2 edits | IKNS Remotes and Upstream Stats
As some are aware, those unlucky enough to get 'upgraded' to an IKNS remote wind up with issues (just do a search on dslreports for IKNS):
1. the upstream stats that are reported - SNR 6.0 dB, Atten 20.5 dB and power of ~ 12.5 dBm (on ADSL) 2. the fact that it reports interleave instead of fastpath on ADSL 3. the latency on a 2wire actually seems to be interleaved even though it is a fastpath profile as confirmed by using a different brand modem.
My issue now with testing this new upgraded line of mine is that I have been trialing a 8/1 profile this weekend and as my stats show, I am still having upstream issues with the ADSL2+ profile. (These stats have all been confirmed with the house wiring disconnected at the demarc)
My thought is that I still have a line issue since the stats have come more inline (the attenuation figure seems correct), but the direct group is saying that this is all part of the alcatel/lucent issue that they say is going to be fixed on the next upgrade but they have no timeframe for the actual fix. I wonder if the 'fix' will correct the apparent line issue or if there is an actual line issue with the upstream spectrum.
My question is to anyone who has been upgraded from ADSL to ADSL2+ on an IKNS remote did your upstream line stats remain horrible on ADSL2+ also. If you are on ADSL2+ on an IKNS remote, can you post your stats please.
My stats on ADSL with the IKNS remote
 Stat 5/.8 ADSL on IKNS
My stats on ADSL2+ with the IKNS remote
 Stats 8/1 ADSL2+ on IKNS
Even using a speedstream 4200 I only can get 766 on the upstream - so this suggests more than a 'IKNS' issue and that it is a physical line condition.
 Speedstream 4200
Weird, but the Speedstream reports a FAST ADSL2+ profile. I thought they were all interleave.

As for the ADSL2+ profile, you definitely have a problem on the upload. The download is full sync however. |

But is the upstream issue an 'IKNS' issue or physical line condition? |

However, that's not to say there isn't an issue at the remote (the port itself, for example). Could be that or a line condition. You're probably a stone's throw away from the remote as well. |
