"The particular information you speak of only estimates the information as it doesn't have payload information."

That opens the door for zero reliability and brings doubt to the quality of the data being collected.
This is why we didn't use it in our filing... When we realized the only way to get a clear picture of the use was through DPI we realized we would never get an exact picture from that particular unit.... At best it would be an estimation.
Thanks for claryfing - that's the information I was looking for.

Despite the very dissapointing attitude you're displaying right now, I'm still going to be an advocate of your service and continue to help your customers and your employees resolve issues via this forum and the #teksavvy channel in EfNet.

I'm done. Have a good day.

Deadpool,

I wrote what I wrote as I'm all about "saying what you do and doing what you say". What you've just done is extremely wrong and unless you can show otherwise, you've just caused some serious damage to our relationship.

For the sake of being able to sleep at night, I suggest you consider telling your lawyer friends (likely standing in back of you while you type) overthere to stop trying to gather counter arguments and instead try and actually understand their own technology and what it actually is doing to customers and the marketplace.

Now, before my lawyer freeks on my head again, I'm done on this topic as none of us deserve this kind of an environment.

A hard lesson for all of us, but this is not Deadpool anymore. It's either him and he's being made to use his previous good rep here as "leverage" to "maximize Bell's position" (I'm just making corporate BS speak up here, but you get the idea), OR the real Deadpool has left the building. Either way, Rocky et al please you'll need to be more careful and strategic when dealing with "Deadpool" on these forums. I would say that, as a person at your level in your company, you should probably not be interacting with Bell middle-management types on public forums during this time (I'm no lawyer, just my opinion). Deadpool's done, unfortunately.

Not to make light of a serious situation, but it occurred to me that it would be really, really funny if you had actually just fed Deadpool false information. Then you see it turn up in Bell's arguments and then you're like "oh we don't use those, where did you get that information from?"

I doubt information from this board makes it to that level, but I guess you never know. Besides, lying is more Bell's style than Teksavvy's.

The idea of managing a network via DPI, to me is like managing traffic congestion by installing gates on every driveway, only letting out those who fit the right criteria and controlled by some corporation who isn't really accountable to pretty much anybody.

Do we really want some company deciding these things for us? It just seems really un-Canadian to me.

I totally and violently disagree with this.

This is more like Bell spreading glass shards and nails on roads in a specific pattern that will affect only cars of a certain width, and hoping that enough cars will get punctures and be forced to lumber back home, fix the problem and then attempt to go again, hoping they won't get a puncture again.

>It just seems really un-Canadian to me.

Unfortunatly, the reform party was democratically elected. And because the liberal party has become their pet poodle, they can reign over canada and impose the neo-conservative policies that come from their american idols.

This may be a little off-topic for the thread, but I just posted the following in the General Canadian Broadband Forum:
