Now I'm happy and I think I'll pass on the outside NID testing UNLESS like you said modem trains down to much (whatever that is(sounds like a slow down))<br><b>But again, you have fixed my issue with your precious time..THNKS BBR COMMUNITY!</b>]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/733611"><b>d_l</b></A> : That is a reasonable throughput speed for Elite so you <strike>are probably</strike> were probably syncing at 6016.<br><br>There are various reasons the router could be slowing your throughput, e.g. WAN port at 10baseT speeds, a bad firmware version, QoS throttle settings left over from a slower speed plan, etc.<br><br>Edit: It looks like your modem is training down after a short duration at 6016 speeds.<br><br>Do you still have that microfilter on your home run?  Can you check your sync speeds and stats at your NID: &raquo;<A HREF="/faq/bellsouth">AT&T Southeast  Forum FAQ</A> &raquo;<A HREF="/faq/4787">How to check modem stats, synch rates &amp; speeds from test jack at the NID.</A> ?]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/469597"><b>HomeChicken</b></A> : the speedstream 5100<br>I figured the gui would be in the modem 192.168.0.1 but to get there i had to unplug my linksys router..so I did<br>then i do the PPOE on the modem and get on the internet, I do a speed test at ATT site ..now i get <br>Download = 4.893 Mbps <br>Upload = 662.25 kbps <br><br>does that sound right for Elite speed now?<br>So why would it go faster with the router out of the picture? <br>I'll try to get the speeds from the modem for the posts sake.]]></description>
