RTL8186 based wireless

I got a wireless network for about 3 years...
I was using mostly D-Link and few cheap brands like CNet, Repotec and Edimax.
Shortly ago I found out that all of those cheap brands use the same RTL8186 chip and they use very similar software.
I was wondering just one thing.
Edimax and Repotec are using 12V adapters and the CNet uses a 5v one... the chip is the same... I wonder would that have a influence in the wireless power?
Is the CNet weaker than the other 2?
