Old versions of Roxio easy CD and DVD creator

Does anyone know where I can download old versions of Roxio easy CD and DVD creator 5 or 6 or 7.5 ?
I currently use Nero, but would like to give Roxio a try, and I think its only the older versions that'll work on my old system.
Do you know where i can download them from?
Thanks

Yeah, but he said he's looking for a download. He may be wanting to do a shareware trial before paying up. I can't find any downloads, either, searching, but earlier versions are often available on eBay for under $10 shipped.

Are you using XP?

I don't know about Easy CD Creator for versions 6 or 7.5, but I do know that you needed to install a patch for Easy CD Creator 5 to work on an XP machine. It seems that version had a compatability issue with XP and the patch allowed the program to work flawlessly with XP.

I have Roxio products on my Vista machine, but for quick and dirty burning, I go to my XP machine that has Easy CD Creator 5 on it.

Good luck finding the product.

6 works great on XP and it has a patch also. That's what I use .

eBay is probably the best source but might not be real easy to find.

I have XP and EZCDC 5 with the patch and I have the new Nero and Roxio and I have to say that my all time favorite CD burning program is EZCDC 5 on XP with the patch. I wish I could use it forever.

Roxio USA does not offer trial versions like Nero.

But, apparently Roxio UK does offer them.

I got a copy of Roxio Easy CD and DVD creator 6. But the thing wont work on my pc
1st: It wont write DVDs or even CDs
2nd: the maximum write speed shows as 4X for DVDs. Nero show up-to 18X.

Could those of you who got Roxio 6 to work on WinXp please tell me which patches I need to get? I got all from the Roxio web site, but things still wont work for me. Once, it even would not detect my DVD drive. If it did, it would not write any files to the disk.

I like Roxio 6 (don't know why ). Could you please tell me what I need to do to get this working on a WinXp pc with SP2? I mean, which patches do I need and where do I get them?

I've heard people say you need patches for this thing. But which ones and from where? I got 6 or 7 from the Roxio site, and nothing works even after that.

Thanks

I got the updates and installed them. Some 4 restarts later, the MAX burn speed is 18X. But the funny thing is, no files ever get written to any of my DVDs (I'm using DVD+Rs). For a 20 MB file, the burn progress bar will move from 0 to 100% in a second, and then I get a message saying "Its Done" (not exactly that, but something telling me it wrote the file successfully'). But check the disk later, and the file that was supposed to have been successfully written is not there
I even uninstalled Nero 6.
What could I be doing wrong ?

Easy CD seems to be one of those that either kicks butt or refuses to work, and you're in the bad half. Have you tried other programs? I use Ashampoo for my burning.

Try freeware InfraRecorder instead?

You can often find torrents with iso's of older software on various sites. However, I've now given up on Nero and Roxio, they've become too bloated and break too often. (The older versions do work better with less bloat, though they may not be compatible with the latest DVD recorder hardware.)

I've now moved to using the completely free InfraRecorder instead with excellent results plus they keep adding support for new hardware. »infrarecorder.sourceforge.net/
