| 327 & Linksys G Laptop card. Encription compatibiliy issues
I have a 327 router and a Linksys G wireless card. The router only gives me WEP & "WPA-PSK" for choices while the Linksys gives me WPA-Personal, WPA-Enterprise (which I guess I can't use judgeing by the description) and PSK2.
I used this dual "WPA-PSK" (whatever that is or means) and WPA-Personel on the Linksys but I couldn't connect. I also tried the PSK2, but same thing.
This "Passcode" (I believe that is what Linksys calls it) is kinda confusing. It generates a criptic looking "Key" which there is no option on the 327 to do this.
Is this "key" the same one I should use on the 327? -- Yearly 'packaged' VoIP deals, just might not be a 'deal'. |

| Before using the 327, I was using a motorola access point. That motorola gave me a choice of WPA-PSK or WEP. With WPA-PSK there was a choice of TKIP or AES, and I used AES. I had successfully used the motorola access point for several years.
With the 327w, I configured WPA-PSK, and used the same key I had been using with the motorola (and the same SSID).
My laptop, running XP, failed to properly connect to the WiFi network. I deleted the entry from the WiFi networks list, then tried again, typing in the same key. This time it connected.
My laptop, when booted to linux, just connected with the old settings as if nothing had changed. My wife's laptop, running XP, also connected with the old settings, as if nothing had changed.
On both XP systems tested, I do have Windows set to manage the WiFi connections (rather than the card vendor software). -- AT&T dsl; Westell 327w modem/router; SuSE 10.1; firefox 2.0.0.14 |

| I wanted to use the vendors S/W, but it is poorly organized. The window takes up too much space for the information it delivers per page. You could combine all of the three tabs into one page since the boxes are so small within the window and have the same thing.
I'll try it again with the Windows interface.
