DVD Drive Keep On Ejecting

Hello, I have DVD drive which keeps on ejecting when I try to access it. I have tried different CD and DVD media but none of them. All those CD/DVD media works on other machine.

As soon as I click on DVD drive to access it in windows explorer it ejects the dvd drive (like there is no cd in there but there is a CD). Any help?

Thank you

Try to disable all sound programs to make sure it isn't a software thing, then you can assume that it is hardware and look to replace it.

Removing it from device manager and letting the machine reinstall after a reboot may be helpful (or not).

I was just wondering if some program was causing it. I don't have vista, but if you can either start without anything running, or just close all programs and kill the processes one at a time to see if something is causing the behavior.

msconfig has a checkbox in XP "diagnostic startup" that loads very very little...

Wait, How about just trying safe mode and seeing if it behaves that way. This would lead one to think it is software if it won't happen in safe mode. If it does, then you need a new drive most likely.

been seeing this appear, it's either a trojan or spyware/malware caused.
