| Dod:S Beta
is out...on your games page in steam, go down to "not installed" and it will be there.
Changes in this update:
- added Dod_Palermo, updated map based on Dod_Salerno by Insta
- added Steamworks features, including achievements and player avatars
- added Nemesis and Revenge
- added Freeze Cam
- friendly players no longer collide with each other
- many particle systems have been improved
- changed the algorithm for bullet spread to be more like the original Day of Defeat
- reduced Garand recoil
- View position is now adjusted when zoomed with rifles and sniper rifles to help with player visibility around corners
Planned changes not in this update:
- Per-player stats linked to Steam Community
- many map exploit fixes |

| hrm...been too caught up in tf2 to mess with dod:s but maybe ill give it a DL. Source really turned me off to DoD (and CS) even though i played it for about a year. havent touched it since b/c i realized how lame it was comapred to DoD 1.
DoD was a game i absolutely loved, but got worse with every patch. DoD:S was like a whole new game. |

DOD:S beta? So there are two versions of DOD:Source?
I still prefer old school DOD. DOD:S is just a whole different game like Somnam said, and I don't really care for it. |

I never could play DoD:S. It was too CoD'ish. More run and gun and less actual skill and strategy. Although I've really been turned off to DoD since it went retail. Beta 3.1 was probably as good as it could possibly get. |
