| Email Question..
On this page....
»move2.bellsouth.net/ws.other.1.jsp
The notice indicates that BellSouth will send new email advisories to existing correspondents.
The att.net page appears to work, but the BellSouth.net page goes nowhere. Does anyone know if this feature exists on the BellSouth side?
Thanks.. |

Somewhere in the literature was a notice that BellSouth would do this automatically.. |

Perhaps someone who has experienced this might chime in..
Thanks |

You will set-up AT&T WebMail to download your email from your old ISP and forward it to your new address.
If I'm not mistaken, AT&T, and most other versions of WebMail, already allow you to do this.
Since I have an old BellSouth email account that I haven't used in years, rather then check it periodically, I have WebMail forward it to one of my other email accounts. Since this account was never very active, I rarely have any span forwarded.
Edit: Yup, it's all there "Access a non-AT&T mailbox". Forwarding is also shown as an option. -- No good deed goes unpunished. |

burris Premium join:2000-08-22 Miami, FL | reply to mikes60 I have it all set up, but I wonder if the forwarding option can be set to automatically forward all the non-ATT email to my BellSouth account without further intervention.
If so, I haven't yet figured out how to do so.. |

| OK...I found the way at least with Thunderbird 2.0.0.15.
When I set up bellsouth mail, I now have 2 mail accounts...comcast and bellsouth..
After moving all the mail and sub folders into the new bellsouth account, something they warn you about, I opened the account settings for comcast mail and when going into advanced account settings on that server settings page, It gives you a choice for when downloading mail from this POP server..'use the following folder for new mail', and it lists the inbox folders for every account you have set up in Thunderbird. Choose the one you want..
It warns you that the comcast mailbox goes away and that it could take up to 6 hours for a forward to be effected. My first test took 5 minutes..
I do thank you all for your contributions.. |
