STB and HD Light

I recently changed from HDMI to Component to accommodate a Sony receiver that was given to me. After making the change, the HD indicator light on my DVR STB is constantly on, even when I'm on a non HD channel. There are zero issues with video, recording, channel changing, etc., so I'm not really worried. But, I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue.

Thanks.

The Blue "HD" Light/Indicator is based on whether you have an HD Aspect Ratio (really more of a resolution output selector) selected for the STB, not whether or not you are actually watching an HD channel. When you are using Component, it will ALWAYS be on. When you are using HDMI, the blue light will turn off when the TV is off (no connection via HDMI).

Even if you are watching a Standard Def channel, but the STB is set to display 1080i resolution/aspect ratio, the STB is still outputting a 1080i signal, even if the signal source is 480i, if you follow...
