I get consistently good results with Speakeasy, but they are never out of reason. I just ran Speakeasy, Speedtest, and the above mentioned ATT test. Speakeasy and Speedtest both came in at 3Mbs, while AT&T was 1.5 Mbs. I am signed up for 3 Mbs service, currently running a sync rate of 5024 interleaved, according to my modem.
I happen to have a little network monitor applet that graphs input and output data rates. When I test against Speakeasy's closest node, the applet consistently shows a smooth even data flow at higher rates that most of the other test sites, so I tend to believe that Speakeasy's servers aren't overloaded and may be capable of delivering more accurate rates that the other sites, most of the time. -- www.east-tennessee-land.com |
