united state | Miscommunication I keep seeing people mention "just bring your own phone"...These days the phone has nothing to do with an ETF. Look at the iPhone, you pay full price for the phone, but any of the standard AT&T plans require a 2 year contract unless you sign up for a gophone type account.
The ETF stopped being based on the subsidizing of hardware quite some time ago.

these phones are bought in such bulk, i doubt the price they paid for the handset is as high as the ETF.
