| free fishing weekend
It's that time again. I took the Nephews to the firing range two weeks ago, and fishing is coming up soon. I promised to try and post our states last year, but missed a few dates so here they are:
Arkansas-Noon, Friday, June 6, until midnight, Sunday, June 8 Residents and nonresidents may fish this weekend without fishing licenses or trout permits. Regulations for Arkansas waters apply: daily limits, slot limits and length limits must be observed. Kids Fishing Day at the Commissions five fish hatcheries is Saturday, June 7, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. »www.agfc.com/fishing/freefishing.aspx
Oklahoma- June 7-8: Oklahoma Free Fishing Days. No state fishing licenses or permits required. City permits may still apply. »www.wildlifedepartment.com/june.htm
Texas-First Saturday in June. PDF, sorry I couldn't find it on the site.»www.tpwd.state.tx.us/publication···0457.pdf
Louisiana- No License Required Fishing Days Fishing June 7-8, 2008
Anyone can fish in Louisiana waterways without a recreational fishing license on this weekend. All current size and possession limits for fresh and salt water fishing still apply. Normal commercial fishing license regulations are not waived for this weekend. »www.wlf.louisiana.gov/calendar/?mn=6&yr=2008
So there you have it. Grab a rug-rat and a couple o' poles. Go drown some crickets. -- "I hope you did something important today, 'cause it cost ya another day of your life." |

| reply to eatatjoz Now if the blasted water levels on area Lakes would go down enough to get on them! This last couple of months has been most depressing, only got out once since winter and that was just to fire the boat up for the intended vacation, of which this is the last day and no decent weather.
Thank goodness for books!
But, perhaps June will straighten up and act right
