| interesting take on new copyright law coming to canada
»aardvark.co.nz/daily/2008/0526.shtml
damn guess a lot a people won't be able to travel with ANY music as the new law makes it virtually impossible to prove you own music you ripped and if you made the music Oh boy PROVE IT.
This kinda crap might just be what we actually need to prove that riaa style laws and american interferance in music and entertainment is NOT needed.
I kinda remind myself of caveman days when they would dance about the cave ....FREE OF CHARGE.
And did my grand father fight in WW2 and korea for this kind of democracy? |

| reply to chronoss2008 seizing an ipod cause you have no proof you own it how they going to enforce this.
I say we get 10000 kids and march across the boarder and let them arrest us all. go for it.
The press would eat that up especially if it were found we all owned the music legite. Also i looked for posts on the whole main page here and saw nothing.
This Bill Should be renamed "HOW TO KILL THE MUSIC INDUSTRY FOR REAL" |

In October 2007, the European Commissioner for Trade, Peter Mandelson, announced that the European Commission would seek a mandate from European member states to negotiate a new Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) with major trading partners. These trading partners include Canada, Mexico, South Korea, Japan, Switzerland and New Zealand in addition to the United States.
It would also strengthen efforts to protect American and European intellectual property around the world, which is a key part of the EU’s so-called Global Europe Trade Strategy. -- My BLOG .. .. Internet News .. .. My Web Page |
