I'm getting a very basic Comcast search page with the option to sign in at the top...I don't trust it just yet

On the AT&T DSL line at work I get "HTTP 403 Forbidden". When trying to check the source of the page I get "access is denied".

I am getting the same small page with login options. I do not trust it yet either. And as much as I want to check my mail through Outlook, I dont think I'm ready for that yet. Just in case.

I am as well but it is also displaying other usernames that don't belong to me.

As I muddled about the site trying to get my email today, there was a blank page with some links on the side. Among these was place for a screen name/address which was NOT mine to "LOG OUT"

FWIW, I've had Outlook open all morning with no issues. My mail is coming in normal.

You can check you mail through the mobile web interface here according to comcast help analysist....
»m.comcast.net/

It seems to work, just primitive.

Outlook has worked since last night. A simple flush of the DNS was the trick for me. My email account didnt show any evidence of usage done by someone else but then again all they need is to view what I had already look at.

IS »m.comcast.net/signIn.jsp?redirec···List.jsp safe to login to? you would think it would be a secure HTTPS page. I'm too paranoid to try loggin into my email Account... WTF COMCAST!!!!

»login.comcast.net/login?s=portal···t.net/a/

This is the URL which has allowed me to successfully gain access to my alias accounts.

There are others that appear to still have problems i.e. incorrect account names and frozen browsers accessing comcast.net (home).

It appears safe, I have tried it at can access my email without any errors. It is a very limited interface since it is designed for mobile phones, that must be why no https secure interface.

Too paranoid
I found the typical sign in page to acces members only content on the forums. Once inserting my account information I see the forum for a split second then a redirect to »www.comcast.net/a/?prvtof=adflnj···nafjknsa etc etc.. then this box is display.

Thanks! It worked. I see what you mean about generic form. Definitely meant for cell phones.

There is a lot of work going on to resolve this so you may see sporadic success and failure until we have it resolved. Please bear with us.

The m.comcast.net site is something that is generally used for mobile devices. That site (while basic) is secure and working as of 8am est. I'm not going to go into a whole lot of detail about where I got this information, but you can take it as fact...

1. The Comcast site was not hacked, the DNS servers were redirected to a non-Comcast IP address.

2. The reps you speak with on the phone are only told enough information to satisfy basic customer inquiries. Yes, they were told to tell users there is maintenance going on, not that the site was hacked as it, in fact, was not.

3. When calling support, expect a long wait time as there's many people ahead of you in the queue. Thinking that by selecting a different option just to get a tech on the line quicker will result in you getting information like "The internet's down".

4. Screaming and yelling at the people on the phone is not going to get your issue resolved any quicker. They will not be able to give you any real useful information other than "We're aware of the issue and are working on it.". Pressing for more information will be futile as reps are not updated with anything more than a listing of current outages. None of these outages have ETA's on resolution.

I hope the little bit of information I've provided is of some use, or at the very least let's you know what to expect.

Cheers
