Just got notice of yet another update: »support.microsoft.com/kb/937287
That seems to be related to SP1 installation problems.

I first tried to install SP1 about 2-3 weeks ago. The install failed "SP1 did not install. Reverting changes."

Last weekend there was another patch available. I installed that. It then again offered SP1. It failed again. Then I was offered KB938371. That installed. Then I was offered SP1 yet again. It failed yet again. Then I was re-offered KB938371 (which now shows as having been installed twice). After that, it offered XP1 for the fourth time. I declined - there is a limit to how much time I have for such nonsense in one day. I will put off my next attempt for a few weeks. Perhaps they will eventually get it right.
Just to add: I had no problem at all with the update today. But, I downloaded the exe file to disk and installed offline with no 'extra's' running like AV etc etc.

It seems in my experience that this is the way to avoid the worst [ if possible ]....

Just my 2 centavos.
