Any ideas or is it impossible? Most are not joking. No way to do it unless you know there is a second gateway to the internet. -- The irony of common sense, it is not that common I cannot deny anything I did not say |

Get a new job, one with a network without a firewall. Be sure to write that on your resume.Require network access without firewall. |

| reply to bryan480 Try to get your boss interested in the game. Maybe he or she can then swing a bit of muscle with the IT guys.
And, if that doesn't work, you could always complain to your boss's boss, right? -- Regards, Joseph V. Morris |

Unless you're not posting from work during the day right now... |

Any ideas or is it impossible? The point everyone is trying to say is it's possible to by-pass, but they'll know exactly what you're doing.
In most companies by-passing firewall is a fire-able offense and should they be onto you it's when, not if, you'll be walked out. |

| reply to bryan480 I have observed several people with a sudden desire to go to the state unemployment office after:
1) Playing games on the internet 2) Accessing Porn sites 3) Using company email for personal reasons.
It really happens very quickly. A couple of people show up, give you a box (maybe) and advise you to hand over ID, keys, cell phone, etc., and hit the door in 5 minutes and don't let it hit you where the good lord split you.
In short forget about the games on company time or change jobs . |

| reply to bryan480 A guy at work got recently fired for playing WoW at work. The IDS picked up the pocket traffic as P2P so his system was scanned for P2P software. WoW was found, Ports and IPS of the IDS detection were analyzed, and found to be WoW servers. He got booted. |
