Next ,Time Warner is gonna say

"Verizon FIOS needs a digital converter box to make all television signals digital!" Please go out and buy this and that and that because its not that good compared to Time Warner. Let me say something here, would you spend $100 a month for cable when you are in hurricane territory where you have a fear that all the utility poles are gonna get knocked down or spend $100 a month for FiOS when cables are buried under your front lawn and you are in L.A., where Earthquakes happen 10 times a day or more? At least for FiOS, you have nothing to lose if there is an earthquake compared to Cable when your power goes out, you have no cable because all the utility poles are knocked down due to weather.

And why is Mike O'Malley the person who is the "spokesperson" for Time Warner? Why not get someone like Paris Hilton or Brittney Spears etc. ?

My friend who lives down in Tampa who had Bright House lost his cable for over a month due to the hurricanes a few years ago because all the utility poles fell over due to the wind and rain. Now he have Verizon FiOS and he said he loves it!!

Wow, what does that have to do with anything...LOL. Not paying because of weather? I dont get your point, just because I live in socal doesn't mean that when there is an earthquake im going to pay for the service i did not receive. If this is the reason for leaving a service, I suggest to that individual to not buy anything (ever....esp. a car) and to ask for advice in dealing with sales people.

No, they were cases here in Maryland where people who didn't have service because a tornado whipped out part of the town called up Comcast to have their service suspended because of weather reasons and Comcast ignored the customer's request and the customers were staying elsewhere then when they moved back in after having their house fixed up. Once they called up Comcast to restart the service, they said we can't do that because you owe us between $2,000-$10,000 based on late charges and services provided from this and that date and claimed customers never called up to suspend the service.

Note: Cable is above ground Fiber is under ground !! Time Warner is just saying that they have Fiber so why is it not under ground?

I had a situation where they were comcast was doing work in the Bay area and the service was out for like a week. So i told them, you either take that week off bill or I am GONE. And they said, yes sir, is there anything else i can help you with, then i said yes. "The service has been off and on for a month, I want compensation for that month (even with no SLA). I got the next month for FREE. I think the biggest problem here is, to be prepared. Dont let your bill go to $2000, before you tell them to F-OFF.

But the problem about it was with these people was that they were not at home, had no mailbox because it got blown away and received no invoices from Comcast as the Post Office was holding mail until the person came in every monday-saturday to pick it up.

As for your cable is above ground fiber is underground. That is not ture, it all depends on area (topography), age of existing infrastructure, and of course cost. For example, in this city (Orange) they run the main fiber from the CO under the main streets. Then from there it goes above ground on the poles. It really just depends on local infrastructure, some will take down poles and put them in ground for looks also hurricanes in some areas. But there were onces poles there, if it was an older town.

Well my lines are a P.O.S. when it comes to DSL,Phone Quality, and Cable as I have Directv and I never wanted to go with Comcast because my aunt have signal problems with hers and its the way the cable is and the quality of the cables in my area are horrible. Thank god I went with Directv for Television. The $99 Triple Play package here for Comcast is really $99 plus monthly service fees city and state taxes so the $99 for everything is really close to $170 which means about $71 in just fees and taxes.

I'm currently have a problem with Verizon and my internet service and they are telling me go here do this do that. I'm a PC Tech and its not my PC its the way that the lines are in shape after 40+ years of elements. The people at Verizon incorrectly ran my line from the CO to my house when Bell Atlantic was around and I have over 1400 feet more cable going to my house than any other person on my block and everyone on my block is the same distance in loop length. So my whole town have went to hell and never came back based on the quality of the lines here. The town have been around since the late 1800s.

Here, they run fiber in Baltimore County under the ground and everything and give better service to the people in the County than they do in Baltimore City because the cost of buying a house is 3-7 times more than they are in the city and I live in Baltimore City.

Note: There is fiber on poles and coax underground.

Not all of any company's fiber is buried. It all depends on the locality and right of ways the company has obtained.
