So negativly impact all their customers... nice move.
Didn't affect me.
So where does the "all" come into play?
If you pay for a pie, and someone steals a slice, then they have committed a crime. It doesn't matter if you ended up throwing the pie away and didn't care about the slice in the first place, a crime was still committed against you.

While you may not use comcast.net or the comcast.net email address, it is still part of the service you are paying for. Someone removed access to those services that you pay for from you.

Whether or not you use them is irrelevant to the case.

So, because you or someone else has an issue or a bad experience, doesn't mean we all will.

This "hacker" needs mommy to slap him.
I hope he does time with Bubba!
Yea, just because your service sucks doesn't mean we should all have to suffer. I give you my simpathy for your connection and service not being what it should be, but let those of us who enjoy our connection actually enjoy it.

I also have to side with dadkins because my service has also been superb. Every tech and rep I have talked too has gotten the problem fixed in a reasonable amount of time and with minimal effort. I even dare say their service is decent

Comparing the boston tea party to this situation is for all intents and purposes, wrong. Thier similarity is incredibly vague at best and I agree shows a lack of understanding of why the boston tea party occured if you truly believe it is similar to this situation.

Explain to me what you must do on the Internet that you cannot accomplish any other way.

Listen to you.

Care to elaborate?
no place in the world would I ever run in to one like you.

You've clearly have never lived or had an extended visit to NYC. There is no type of person on the internet that you won't encounter in the city.

As I said earlier my reasons and motivations are my own. I'm not going in to it, I need to have physical access to the hardware on a basically daily basis. It is for personal use, there are no conveniently located colo facilities and the ones that are near enough to consider won't host what I need hosted anyway.

edit: stupid spell checker.
In otherwords what your doing is most likely illegal to begin with. Bottom line is you don't have a "right" to violate a contract.

You can feel anyway you want about it, but your wrong plain and simple. If you were taken to court the judge won't see your "right" to admitting that you break a contract you entered into on a daily basis.

Not that your likely to be caught or go to court, but your attitude about it is amazing. I really hope that attitude gets carried over to committing a real crime (if your not already) i'd love to see the look on the judges face when your lawyer tells him "your honor my client felt he had a right to break the law because he didn't agree with it in the first place and had no choice..."

I live in a comcast area i can not get thier service it would cost me $2,000 to install a line and the service will run me $99.95 a month becaue they have to run a line from the pole to the third floor where I live. I also do not like the invisable caps they have. Comcast's customer service sucks!!!

You have not been forced into any contract. You entered into it fully aware of the limitations on the service. If you require special needs, then you need to negotiate those needs with them. They can either provide for those needs or they cannot. It still doesn't justify violating the terms.

You need to find other avenues of fulfillment for those needs.
Yes most of us agreed to the contract and we agreed to pay the price associated with said contract. But the one big thing is you and I can't change that contract anytime we want and we can't define it the way we want. The Corps do this all of the time and expect us to just go along with it or just suck it. We have no negotiations.

The reason you enter into a contract is so that the terms don't change. That's the benefit of a contract, not the drawback.

modsquad- Comcast did NOT buy out the TWC area there. It was an agreement that took place when the two of them took over Adelphia. One did not buy the other. the system just changed hands.

Also if you don't like Comcast; sign up with AT$T's shitty DSL service.

This is one of the very few ways the average joe (or in this case, the average hacker joe) can make a statement to a giant corporation that will actually be heard.
Agreed, but watch them go to jail now as "Computer Terrorists"...

Yeah. *Anyone* who embarrasses of disrupts a corporation using disobedience tactics like protesting, going on strike, Sit-ins, street demonstrations, online demonstrations and internet disobedience (like hacking websites, etc), reveals damaging internal information to the media or posts it on the internet. boycotts, sick-outs, or files lawsuits etc etc should all be thrown straight into prison!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

.... Not.

Are you kidding? This is not worth the FBI's time. There is real crime out there - let the FBI deal with that.

No harm no foul. This is not a real big deal.

A little perspective, please.
