PS CS3 - stroke default is red - can U change default color?

Click for full size
PS CS3 - stroke effect is red by default - is there a way to change default color to say, black?

Now,I know how to change the color from red to black, but who the hell uses red? I don't. I use the stroke effect to apply a 1px black border around most of my photos. It would be nice to have it default to black so I don't have to go through the extra steps of changing it each use.

Any ideas?

Thanks - Taylor

I'm not sure what you mean. The default brush color?

That's funny because when I changed the stroke color to black it saved it. I'm talking about under edit stroke and it saved it. Perhaps this isn't the same thing though but works for me.

Thanks. I never accessed "stroke" from edit drop-down menu. I always accessed if in layer effects. And you're right about it saving the color of the stroke when applied that way.
From now on that's the way I'll apply it.

I've never gone to that screen before but I think it means using a color, not necessarily red, as apposed to the other choices, gradient or pattern.

I understand the functions of all the layer effects. I just wanted to know if I could set the color to black as default whenever I open the GUI.

I guess I'll contact one of the Photoshop Help folks over at NAPP.

Thanks

Ah, I see what you mean. I just tried it (never used stroke before) and it's red alright.

Let us know what you find out.

Better than that, I saved it as a custom layer style.
