I get the "Not authorized. To order 'channel desc' service on channel 'channel #' please call (866)483-4448"

I have spoke to CV four times and emailed three. CV had me reboot my box umpteen times. A tech came out and said that it was my internal cable, I need to replace my RG6-U that I just replaced last year because another tech said I needed RG6. I replaced the RG-6U with his recommended TFC-T10 with compression fitting. After all that still not good. My signal levels hardly changed either. I ran a piece of TFC-T10 right from the outside connection and still no good. Now I got a tech coming out a second time and CV says that they will have to bill me for it.
Here are my signal levels
FDC -11 dbmv
RDC -60 dbmv
QAM -9 dbmv 35db
It's crazy that CV can not figure this out. This is going on about three weeks now. Am I missing anything? Is there anything else that I can try?

Yeah, stop running around and changing your cable because they cant fix the problem on THEIR end. I'd cancel the tech appointment, and tell them you're not paying for a thing. The stuff worked before they switched it to SDV. Post a message in the OOL Direct forum here and explain the situation.

If they send a tech out, tell him to take your box out to the tap and tune the channels -- if they come in fine at the tap, then you'll gladly pay a fee -- truth is, they will fail just as they are failing in your house.

Out of curiosity -- which box are you using?

your rdc is too high. should be between 45-55. anything higher is too much. fdc should be -5 to -10

Should I have a better signal unsplit? CV says it is my wiring. I think it is crazy.

It really should not matter if your wiring is to blame. The simple fact of the matter is, SDV requires a pretty good signal to work properly, so even if a signal that wasn't as great, 'used' to work, with SDV, it might not work at all... and if that's the case, it should be up to cablevision to come and replace whatever wiring is at fault since they are the ones who decided to use the SDV in the first place.
