What version of Docsis?

Anyone know what version of Docsis Armstrong Zoominternet is currently using in MD? I'm thinking about going VOIP, and I hear, for decent VOIP service, one needs Docsis 1.1 or greater.

Last I heard, a year ago, was that we were on Docsis 1, but last fall the Armstrong techs stated they were in the process of finishing up a major upgrade and since then my internet speed has been slowww...

Thanks!

I have heard that it is Docsys 2 (at least here in Medina OH). I would call and find out.
Never the less, the Docsis version has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with VOIP compatibility. You need to be concerned with download and upload speeds and ping / latency. Most voips need about 128 up and 128 down at a minimum. I have Viatalk and also had Voicepulse with no problems using Zoom 100 (when it was 256K down, 256K up, now it is higher) and also Zoom 500. With Zoom 100 I did notice some call chop if i was also online, hence Zoom 500 upgrade.

Most reputable VOIP systems will let you test their service for a time period (maybe 15 days). You can also use this link and try »www.testmyvoip.com/
