This thread is clearly going nowhere good and getting there fast.
For those who simply wish to rant (or praise) about something, DSLR has a forum just for that purpose so the little space is wasted in "help" forums such as this one. You'll find that forum here: »Rants, Raves, and Praise |

| reply to jezme said by jezme :You came into a thread and directed it off topic. Really? I am quite sure the thread, your thread, was way off topic, by your doing, when I entered it.
Anyway, I do have work to do. I have sent you an IM requesting your customer information. If you will please provide me with that information, I will get it to the proper people. Thanks again. |

| reply to CTEL GUY I dont know who you think youre talking to, but telling me to "back it down" will get you nowhere. Im not your dog, nor your employee, I dont say "how high" when you say jump. If anyone here should back it down, its you. You came into a thread and directed it off topic. If you dont like the heat, then you shouldnt have posted your junk here in the first place.
As far as it taking "Superman to reverse time" to fix the HUGE CenturyTel screwup........ that just shows how bad the trouble got before CT got off their butt and addressed it. That just shows how long the issue went and how many millions of dollars they screwed people out of before the issue was addressed. For gods sake man, if the phone company itself doesnt know how much bandwidth they can support, who does? They knew and yet they STILL kept selling accounts and raking in millions for something they sold, but couldnt supply. Now they want to play the victim and say have patience while we try to resolve this? It cant be done over night? The fact is it never should have happened in the first place. They should have spent the time and money to do the work BEFORE they ripped people off by selling accounts they didnt have bandwidth for. You just shot yourself in the foot by admitting HOW MUCH WORK AND MONEY has to be done to catch up because they didnt do it in the first place, only screwed their customers. Twist it around however you want, those are the facts. You may not be a politician, but you have all the wrong qualities to be one. |

| reply to jezme AGAIN, please go to MY THREAD and re-re-reread my post. I expressed my gratitude to those on this forum that help resolve issues for our customers. I do not address technical issues. "I am not qualified" is not an excuse. It is a fact. I am in MARKETING. So I say again, Back It Down and state your next issue. Let those in the know try and help you resolve another of your issues.
The only other thing I could decipher from your earlier post is, "They simply over sold what their main pipe could handle...... plain and simple." Outside of Superman reversing time, I do not know how you expect that to be immediately resolved. Techs are in the field, money is being spent, but it will take time to catch up. Sorry.
I would love to go on and on with you about this "off topic" discussion, but I have to get back to "lying, cheating, and stealing"...wait, I'm not a politician.
Thank you for your time. |

1 edit | reply to CTEL GUY So you can voluntarily address the issues if they are already handled, but if they arent already handled, you use the "I am not qualified" excuse to avoid them?
you call it flaming, I call it confronting people who get paid to lie, cheat and steal. Ive been told by your own employees "if you dont like it, go somewhere else". If you dont like being confronted by your customers that are being screwed, then Id be justified telling you "if you dont like it, get another job".
Thank you for the well wishes for the 4th, back atcha. |

| reply to jezme I noticed (and expected) that you avoided the statement I made about having "no business addressing the technical issues of our customers." I leave it to the pros and help them in any way I can behind the scenes.
You also neglected to the fact that I said "issue" not "issues". You yourself stated, "yes dsldude, the profile DID finally get upgraded. thanks VERY much for your help and immediate attention!" That is the single "issue" that I referenced.
Also let me address your edit. I have not and do not post due to my lack of technical knowledge. As I stated above. I leave that to the pros that assisted you. You need to re-read my post, but first please back down your immediate desire to "flame" me and my employer. My post spoke to the fact that we are not perfect, but we are trying.
Again, I thank you for being a customer. I understand that you still have CenturyTel problems beyond the one that was resolved for you WAY BACK at the beginning of this thread. I say again, "What's Next?" Take some time to open a new thread and we will see what resolution can be achieved.
And my appreciation post was for everyone who visits this forum. Those who help and those who are helped. An IM to just you would not have properly gotten the word out. Thanks again. Enjoy your 4th! |

1 edit | reply to CTEL GUY I noticed (and expected) how you avoided the issue that still remains and was listed more than once in this thread... about how CenturyTel over sold their own pipe and just kept on selling accounts hey couldnt supply the bandwidth for. About how they never even acknowledged this or even attempted to fix the situation till it got to where after a couple years so may of their customers (here and all over the U.S.) complained so much they had to do something. So the issues are NOT resolved, but it doesnt surprise me that a CenturyTel employee is so quick to close it out and say it is.
it is also no surprise to me that you have evidently by your own statement, been keeping an eye on this thread, but waited until now to say something. Go figure.
Say what you want, what you posted (and since moved) was an ad to make your company look good. If it was merely for appreciation and your concern for the customer the way you say, you could have IM'd me instead of making that long, off topic post for everyone to see. Thanks for proving my point. |

| reply to jezme Not advertising, but appreciation for CenturyTel's customers and its employees. Sorry you see it as advertising and hijacking a thread...a thread that has long since been off topic. You had an issue, that issue was resolved. I say, "What's next?"
I will gladly remove my post and start my own thread.
Have a great weekend! |

1 edit | reply to jezme I don't know what's sad you figure that out.If your language gets better i'm sure your posts will stay here as well so think about it as your flaming and name calling don't help you a bit.And NOW if your problem has a solution then lets just end this topic. |

gee........ lets see....... there were several posts made by people that were off topic, accusatory... you name it, and the posts were allowed to stay. I have been basically called a liar and a fraud, but yet those posts stayed also. So by DSL Reports own rules on flaming and hijacking threads, these posts should have been deleted, but werent. But when I get tired of hearing it and stand up for myself, I get my post deleted? Thats nice..... nothing biased there at all.... no, not at all. Mods deleting the negative posts about someone or the company, but allowing the fanboys to say what they want? This site is sad. |

| reply to jezme Re: Why?
Ok...so if you don't want ANYONE posting ANYTHING other than "CenturyTel sucks sue them for everything they got" then why post your little rant in a FORUM anyway? If you want someone to complain with you should have posted this on a blog somewhere not on a forum where people give their opinions and advice. I'm starting to believe this isn't a CenturyTel problem but a customer that can never be pleased. -- 10,000/768 CenturyTel PPPoE DSL line (really 5,000/768 ) Now it's really 1500/256...again lol |

1 edit | reply to BigVe "Do like me and live with it since it's still MILES better than dial-up"
Jesus H Christ...... is ANYONE here capable of staying on topic? It like dealing with politicians... lie, deny, and deflect. Just because YOU choose to pay full price for something that doesnt work..... thats YOUR business...... start your own damn topic with it and sing their praises. Just because its better than dial up......... Im supposed to just shut up and let a company screw me over? Just because its "better than dialup"? How is the fact that it is better than dial up an issue here? Did you ever see me state that it wasnt?
it amazes me that someone can post useless drivel, yet when I ask questions, they get ignored and even more drivel is posted.
Do me a favor and do not post in this thread anymore unless you can contribute something positive. |

| reply to BigVe So the "legitimate and sensible" option of CT actually giving their customers what they pay for isnt an option? Thats hilarious, and again, reflects bad on CT. And unless you work for CT and have looked into my personal information, how would you know exactly where I am and what my options are? This just cracks me up! |

1 edit | reply to chd176 "Also I said cheap because compare the price of your DSL service to a guaranteed service like a T-1 line. Even a factional T-1 will cost you hundreds a month."
Again... statements that have NOTHING to do with MY issue, and shouldnt be here. Comparing the cost of residential DSL to a dedicated T1 etc... is stupid and pointless and doesnt belong here. I NEVER made ANY comment about not being guaranteed 1.5mb/sec for 24/7. Any statement or comparison I made was to residential service from others that actually WORKS! If you wanted to make a LEGITIMATE comparison, then you should have compared it to the 312k-1.5mb package that a LOT of people I know, purchased from AT&Y/Yahoo DSL. They dont guarantee any sustained speed, only that your speed will fall somewhere into the 312k-1.5mb range. And guess what? Since they dont guarantee any sustained speed, the plan is only $14.99/month! And no, that is not an introductory offer either. Now look at the crappy service CT offers their customers for 3 times the price..... yeah, Id say my service is VERY expensive! If youre going to make comparisons, at LEAST have the courtesy to compare apples to apples.
"however if you're not happy then go with a different provider because I don't see this holding up in any court"
Did I ask for you opinion on if I should change providers? If you knew as much as you claim to, you'd know that in most areas where CT offers service, they HAVE no competition. They know it and use it to their advantage. Did I ask your opinion on the chances of something like this holding up in court? Again....... stupid statements that werent needed.
Im not a stupid person, and Im tired of reading comments from people n here that address posters like they are just exactly that....... stupid. They are a handful of people here that feel the need to reply to damn near every post that is made. It makes for a sad picture for CT with all the hollow excuses and stupid statements. This is just one more of those times. This issue was through. Fuffer had even apologized. But no, you just HAD to throw YOUR 2 cents worth in, didnt you? Its no wonder people dont come to this board looking for help like they used to. |
