said by fatness :said by MHoltum :perhaps a mod checked it out and did not find it to need editing / deleting. That is usually the reason. said by Site FAQ : Depending upon the nature of the item involved, it might be vaporized, sent to Post Jail, locked, "edited by moderator" or left alone (no action taken). | Good lord! There are some forums here that wouldn't have any postings or content at all if it weren't for insults/catty comments/disagreeability/double entendre, or "pot shots". Since few, if any, people post under their real names, slander (or libel) would not be an issue. Some folks are just wa-a-a-ay too thin-skinned. That's the beauty of the system... if you don't like it, you don't have to read it. America... the land of choice, and the freedom to exercise same. -- If it's true that we learn from our mistakes, MENSA should honor me with their highest award!

Plus that fact that unless they are sight specific acts, dates, times, etc. these "pot shots" are merely printed opinion, which by definition CAN NOT be construed as libel or slander. -- Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

People need to stop insulting others on here because you don't know what Age that person is on the other side of that Monitor. That person who knows maybe 10 yrs old and you're insulting them. -- Visit- www.liveleak.com/view?i=ec4_1174876351

Or they may be an older person from the Southeast with the emotional maturity of a 10 year old. Either way, both will have to learn to live with it. -- The more things change, the more they suck.

| Re: Hey mod help said by MHoltum :Telling someone that they have a kindergardeners grasp of the English language is NOT slander. Here's the Legal Definition
quote: slander
A type of defamation. Slander is an untruthful oral (spoken) statement about a person that harms the person's reputation or standing in the community. Because slander is a tort (a civil wrong), the injured person can bring a lawsuit against the person who made the false statement. If the statement is made via broadcast media -- for example, over the radio or on TV -- it is considered libel, rather than slander, because the statement has the potential to reach a very wide audience

1 edit | Re: Hey mod help I know the definition. Here is the important part: untruthful.
Also, If I state, "You are a complete tool". That is opinion. If I state, "Damn, you write like a complete retard." Again, opinion.
These statements whether true or not are not Slander or Libel, they are in fact opinion. You can not sue for slander for someones opinion.

| Re: Hey mod help quote: Defamation is defined as a false statement communicated to another person that damages your reputation by exposing you to hatred, contempt, or ridicule from other people. Libel is communicating a defamatory statement by writing or picture. Slander is defamation by oral or spoken communication. If such words were written or spoken of you, you are not defamed if the words were true. Truth is a complete defense to defamation. Even if your reputation is damaged by a defamatory communication, you cannot recover if the communication was true.
